Gallup, NM at a Glance
The town of Gallup is most recognizable by the unique culture and tradition of
its citizens. Today, a cultural integration exists between European, Asian and
Mexican immigrants and the American Indian tribes of Acoma, Hopi, Laguna, Navajo
and Zuni. Visitors are drawn to the town for its genuine collection of American
Indian and Southwest-Hispanic commercial art galleries. Others are attracted to
the Gallup
Cultural Center and Red
Rock State Park, which feature museums that highlight and exhibit regional
history and traditions. The city's El
Morro Theatre offers the latest movies as well as concerts, performances and
special events. Sample a range of cuisine, including Mexican, American and Italian,
at one of Gallup's many restaurants. Gallup's surrounding deserts and abundant
red rock cliffs can be explored through personal, guided tours and individually
by foot and mountain bike.
